I’m pretty sure I can blame my bad influence for this. It’s a graph of musicians’ hair, otherwise known as “oh so this is why you have no idea what goes on in your maths class”
If you can’t read it, I’ll explain. Y axis goes from “Iconic” to “Dismal”, X from “More people should have their hair like this” to “Only looks good on him.
Over there in that populated corner we have the Mozzer, the Macca, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Greaser [Early Johnny Marr and later Alex Turner], the Jonny and the Jarvis.
Towards the middle it’s the Gallagher and the Fringe [for Alex James]
And towards the “no one else try this” we have the Lydon and the Ponytail [Thom Yorke circa 2012]
And at the dismal, no one try this end we have the bushy Alex Turner [I was never a fan of his big bushy hair] and the Creep [Thom Yorke circa 1993]
Can we, as a collective community, just take a second out of our schedule to recognize how mad this woman is? And by mad I mean brilliant. And by brilliant I mean that she is just as bad an influence as I am.
Oh don’t make me Scartlet O'Hara swoon on you again. And I’ll have you know that if you continue being such a bad influence I will fail out of school and get kicked out of the house and have no choice but to hitchhike up to you and sleep on your floor and you’ll have to face nonsense like this every day. There are so many more aspects of music culture I have yet to graph!
